This marked his second visit to India in 2025, following his earlier trip in February, highlighting the deepening strategic and cultural partnership between the two nations.

  • - During the Bihar leg of his visit, PM Tobgay inaugurated the Royal Bhutan Temple at Rajgir, Nalanda, where Union Minister Kiren Rijiju (MoMA – Ministry of Minority Affairs) and Bhutanese representatives were present, symbolizing Buddhist cultural diplomacy.
  • - He also visited Nalanda University, proposing stronger cooperation through academic exchanges, scholarships, and cultural collaboration, and extended an invitation for the University to join Bhutan’s Global Peace Prayer Festival.
