MNRE Recognises Three Major Ports as Green Hydrogen Hubs under National Green Hydrogen Mission.

On 10th October 2025, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) officially designated Deendayal Port (Gujarat), V.O. Chidambaranar Port (Tamil Nadu), and Paradip Port (Odisha) as Green Hydrogen Hubs under India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), marking a strategic step towards large-scale clean energy development and export.

  • - These three ports were identified as strategic hubs to facilitate large-scale production, industrial utilisation, and export of green hydrogen, creating regional centres of energy innovation and sustainability.
  • - The initiative aligns with India’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070, promoting green hydrogen as a key clean fuel to reduce industrial carbon footprints.
  • - Hydrogen projects established in these hubs will be eligible for benefits under Central and State Government schemes, including streamlined approvals, access to infrastructure, and financial incentives to encourage investment.
