On 22 September 2025, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MOTA), in partnership with the United Nations (UN) in India, launched the Adi Yuva Fellowship and the Adi Karmayogi Volunteers Programme under the ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’, envisioned as the world’s largest tribal grassroots leadership movement aimed at empowering tribal youth and strengthening community-level leadership.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - Supported by UN India, the Adi Yuva Fellowship is a 12-month paid program designed to empower tribal youth through structured learning, mentorship, and career development.
  • - The first batch will consist of 16 tribal youth fellows, who will be placed with UN agencies at national, state, and district levels. The program provides hands-on exposure to governance, policy implementation, and community development initiatives.
  • - The fellowship aligns with national initiatives including Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 (PMKVY 4.0), National Apprenticeship Programme Scheme (NAPS), and Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), thereby integrating skill development, career growth, and employment opportunities for tribal youth.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) Supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Adi Karmayogi Volunteers Programme has deployed 82 volunteers across 13 districts in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for two months.
  • (ii) These volunteers are tasked with supporting Village Vision 2030 planning, conducting awareness drives, facilitating outreach, and improving access to government schemes and services.
