TCS & C-DAC Sign MoU to Build India’s Sovereign Cloud Ecosystem.

In September 2025, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the flagship IT company of the Tata Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), a premier R&D body under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), to accelerate the development of India’s sovereign cloud ecosystem.

  • - The MoU focuses on creating AI-enabled sovereign cloud platforms that comply with India’s data localisation rules while enabling the digital transformation of public sector services across healthcare, safety, and governance.
  • - This collaboration aims to reduce reliance on global hyperscalers by leveraging OpenStack frameworks and integrating indigenous technologies, thereby strengthening India’s technological self-reliance.
  • - Key government applications such as e-Sanjeevani (telemedicine service) and Dial 112 (national emergency helpline) will be hosted on TCS’ SovereignSecure Cloud, ensuring compliance with strict national data protection norms.
