In September 2025, the Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), under the Government of Meghalaya, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Asean One Co. Limited at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, to enhance international employment opportunities for Meghalaya’s youth.

  • - The MoU sets an initial target of training and placing 500 candidates in the first year, with a long-term goal of scaling placements up to 5,000 youth over the next five years.
  • - The collaboration aims to create employment pathways across multiple high-demand sectors including healthcare, hospitality, information technology (IT), and other industries, aligning Meghalaya’s talent with global job markets.
