India created history by securing the top position in the 16th Asian Shooting Championship 2025, held from August 16 to 30 at the Shymkent Shooting Plaza, Kazakhstan. With a record-breaking medal tally, India outperformed all participating nations in both senior and junior shooting events.

  • - India’s contingent of 35 senior shooters and 129 junior shooters showcased outstanding performances, winning a total of 99 medals that included 50 gold, 26 silver, and 23 bronze. This was the first time India topped the medal tally at the Asian Shooting Championship.
  • - The championship witnessed participation from 748 athletes representing 27 countries across Asia, making it one of the largest competitive platforms for shooting at the continental level. India’s dominance highlighted its growing strength in precision sports.
