KELTRON Signs MoU with Zimbabwe to Supply Products and Services.

On August 29, 2025, the Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (KELTRON), a Public Sector Enterprise (PSE) owned by the Government of Kerala, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zimbabwe to provide its products and services. The agreement was formalized at an event held in Kochi, Kerala.

  • - The MoU was signed by P Rajeeve, Minister of Industries, Kerala, and Rajesh Kumar Indukant Modi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Zimbabwe. The initial supply under this agreement will include 3,000 Coconics laptops manufactured by KELTRON.
  • - The agreement emphasizes expanding cooperation beyond laptops into areas such as traffic lights, solar energy systems, and other KELTRON-manufactured products for the Zimbabwean market. This expansion aligns with Kerala’s strategy of promoting its electronics sector in the global arena.

  • (i) In addition to product supply, the agreement also focuses on capacity building, including the establishment of a Skill Development Centre, a Knowledge-Sharing Centre, and an Assembly Unit in Zimbabwe.
