In August 2025, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) introduced two educational modules for Classes 3-12 to educate students about Operation Sindoor, India’s strategic response to the Pahalgam terror attack. These modules highlight military success, advanced technology, and national security awareness.

  • - Operation Sindoor was launched in May 2025 as a response to the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam terrorist attack, which killed 26 tourists. It targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), coordinated by Lashkar-e-Taiba, and planned with intelligence from the Indian Armed Forces.
  • - NCERT created two modules: “Operation Sindoor A Saga of Valour” for Classes 3-8 using stories and activities to engage young learners, and “Operation Sindoor – A Mission of Honour and Bravery” for Classes 9-12 with detailed analysis of strategy, execution, and operational outcomes.
  • - The modules highlight India’s defense capabilities, including the S-400 air defense system neutralizing enemy drones and aircraft. Operation Sindoor demonstrated precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure while avoiding civilian casualties, reflecting India’s advanced military technology and strategic planning.
