MoE Approves New IIFT Off-Campus Centre at GIFT City, Gujarat.

In May 2025, the Ministry of Education (MoE) approved the establishment of a new off-campus centre of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), based in New Delhi, at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City – International Financial Services Centre (GIFT-IFSC) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

  • - This new centre will be set up in accordance with the UGC (Institutions Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2023, strengthening India’s specialized educational infrastructure in international trade and finance.
  • - The approval was granted by MoE under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, following IIFT's successful compliance with conditions stated in the Letter of Intent (LoI) issued in January 2025.

  • (i) The move marks a significant step in promoting advanced education and research at the heart of India's premier financial hub, GIFT City.
  • (ii) Separately, Monarch Networth Capital IFSC Private Limited has received the Certificate of Registration (CoR) to operate as a Registered Fund Management Entity (FME) (Retail) from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), Gandhinagar.
