Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) Sign MoU to Set Up CoEET in Hyderabad.

MOUs and Agreement | Dated: 27 Jan 2025

On January 24, 2025, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power (MoP), and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Centre of Excellence for Energy Transition (CoEET) at TERI's Institute of Energy Transition (IOET) in Hyderabad, Telangana.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 25 crore, with BEE providing Rs. 5 crore annually for five years to assist in the Centre’s establishment and operations. TERI will contribute its existing infrastructure at the Hyderabad campus and manage the Centre's operational activities.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Union Minister Manohar Lal (MoP & MoHUA), Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with senior officials from MoP, BEE, TERI, and the Telangana government.
  • (ii) Additionally, the Government of India (GoI) has allocated Rs. 488 crore to Telangana for nine new schemes under the Power System Development Fund (PSDF).
