On 12 January 2025, Devajit Saikia, a former wicket-keeper batsman from Assam and a practicing lawyer, was announced as the new Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He replaces Jay Shah, who became the ICC Chairman in December 2024.
