Defence Minister Rajnath Singh completed a three-day visit to Russia, which began on December 8, 2024. During the visit, he oversaw the commissioning of the first stealth guided missile frigate, Tushil. This visit coincided with the 21st meeting of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC), where Singh and his Russian counterpart Andrey Belousov reviewed bilateral defence relations. Singh paid tributes at ‘The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’ in Moscow and interacted with the Indian community. The Tushil, an upgraded Krivak III class frigate, was developed with significant Indian involvement and enhanced stealth features.
